Applied genetics in psychology project

  • Genetics Applied to Psychology: Development of Novel Methods for Personality and Emotional Disorder Analysis

The project aims to create an extensive genetic database that compiles all available and current information on depression and its genetics, focusing on genetic analysis to gather all clinically relevant knowledge for psychologists and psychiatrists. With this database, the goal is to develop the most comprehensive and precise analysis on the market, which will help better understand the biological mechanisms involved in depression, as well as shared biological mechanisms with other disorders, variations in gene expression, and modifications in synthesized protein. This initiative could have a significant impact on mental health and the quality of life of individuals suffering from depression, as it will enable prevention and early diagnosis, as well as improvement in the selection of the most suitable treatment for each individual.
